چکیده
Often cognitive function is affected adversely during prolonged, high intensity exercise. We assessed whether hydrothermally modified corn starch (HMS) ingestion minimizes decline with soccer play. 11 men (177.7 ± 6.8 cm, 77.3 7.9 kg, 22 3 y, 12.8 4.9% body fat, [Formula: see text]O 2 max = 57.1 3.9 ml•kg BM −1 •min ; mean SD) completed 60 min simulated matches HMS (8% CHO; 0.7 g•kg •h 2.8 kcal·kg ) vs isoenergetic dextrose (DEX) consumed 30 prior to the match and at half time. Compared DEX, blood glucose was lower (p < 0.001) 15 (5.3 0.6 7.7 1.4 mmol•L post (5.6 8.3 1.0 ), greater 0.004) after of play (5.8 0.5 5.1 ). With HMS, perceived exertion ratings were reduced throughout 0.025 min). Flanker test incongruent trial reaction time 0.040) conflict cost 0.019) both better HMS. These data suggest that More study warranted elucidate fully cognition benefits for sport performance.

The Effect of Carbohydrate Ingestion on Performance during a Simulated Soccer Match
AIM This study investigated how performance was affected after soccer players, in a postprandial state, ingested a 7% carbohydrate (CHO) solution compared to a placebo (0% CHO) during a simulated soccer match. METHODS Using a double-blind placebo-controlled design, 22 trained male league soccer players (age: 24 ± 7 years, wt: 73.4 ± 12.0 kg, VO2max: 51.8 ± 4.3 mL O2/kg/min) completed two tria...

The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of a carbohydrate-electrolyte drink on soccer performance. Twenty soccer players volunteered to participate in the study. Players were allocated to two assigned trials according to their positional roles in the team: CHO group (ingesting a 6% carbohydrate-electrolyte solution at regular 15 minutes intervals) and NCHO (ingesting no fluid) durin...
متن کاملHamstring Muscle Fatigue and Central Motor Output during a Simulated Soccer Match
PURPOSE To examine changes in hamstring muscle fatigue and central motor output during a 90-minute simulated soccer match, and the concomitant changes in hamstring maximal torque and rate of torque development. METHOD Eight amateur male soccer players performed a 90-minute simulated soccer match, with measures performed at the start of and every 15-minutes during each half. Maximal torque (Nm...
متن کاملThe effects of fatigue on soccer skills performed during a soccer match simulation.
PURPOSE This study examined the effects of exercise-induced fatigue on soccer skills performed throughout simulated match play. METHODS Fifteen academy soccer players completed a soccer match simulation (SMS) including passing, dribbling, and shooting skills. Precision, success rate, and ball speed were determined via video analysis for all skills. Blood samples were obtained before exercise ...
